I personally battled the bulge after my first pregnancy (for about a year) and I have learned through the years that the best way to keep off the weight is by proper EATING HABITS and EXCERCISE. It isnt that difficult if you think about it. Its just that most people cant control what they put in their mouths. Its like if the food CONTROLS THEM, not the other way around. If people would measure their portions and count their calories they wouldnt be asking this constantly. Sorry to sound so harsh but seriously if you want to lose weight then stop drinking SODA, keep snacks to a minimum and if you do snack dont snack on chocolate, chips, candy and pastries those are all NO NOs. Eat sensible healthy snacks. I dont need to list them because everyone knows that they are. Drink WATER and milk (nonfat or 1%), both are crucual for weight loss and weight management. There is nothing wrong with a having a snack heare and there either. Its just when people start making it a habit that the waist starts to expand. When eating fast food. Instead of ordering a regular size meal, order a kids meals, less calories, you can take it even further, instead of a sugary drink, drink water and instead of fries eat apple slices or applesauce. If you eat pizza, eat a cheese thin crust, not the regular dough to many carbohydates. Limit youself to 2 pieces plus a salad. There are ways around eating, where you can pretty much eat what you want it should just be done in MODERATION.

Its amazing how many people are starving themselves or paying for plans that may or may not work. STOP COUNTING CALORIES PEOPLE! Meat has straight up FAT in it. If you stop eating it, you are cutting down a huge percentage of your fat intake. Substitute protein you are missing out on with tofu and texturized protein. Even veggie burgers etc. DON'T STARVE YOUR SELF! The more you eat, the better your metabolism you get. You know what makes it better? Exercise! Do leg lifts, life small weights at home! Do jumping jacks! Just simple little things will help you. I'm 5'3" and I used to weight 125lbs. A few months after being vegetarian I went down to 110. I didn't mean to lose weight, it just happened. Now I fluctuate between 105 and 110. I DON'T EVEN EXERCISE! Imagine your results if you added light exercise! HOLY MOLEY. SEXY BODY COMIN THRU! If you go vegetarian, make sure to take multi vitamins too! VEGETABLES ARE YUMMY TOO! I just say tofu because you can't get ALL the protein you need from just veggies. I try to eat 5 small meals a day and I have started counting my calories, I eat between 1200 and 1500 a day. I am at the gym everyday, I do 15 minutes cardio and all toning with weights. I am trying but I dont see much of a difference. I cut the fast food as well. Is there anything else I can do? I am getting discouraged with all this work and counting and watching what I eat. How do I convince my niece that she is going to lose too much weight? I am concerned about my niece. All she eats is a sandwich sized ziploc bag full of pretzel sticks every day. She insists that it's not going to make her lose weight, because if she's eating that few calories, her body is really going to store them all because it's in starvation mode. I believe that she is going to lose too much weight way too fast, because she is eating *much less* calories than her body naturally burns. Which in turn leads to losing too much weight too fast. I had been cutting calories to lose fat but...? My weight didn't even budge. I realize that it is because I am so close to my natural weight (just wanted to trim a few pounds of fat). I am 5'3" and weigh 121.5. I read that to lose weight in a healthy way I would have to consume about 1300 calories a day as opposed to about 1800 calories a day to maintain my current weight. I eight healthy foods and I jog for a half hour 6 days a week and do a little bit of weight and resistance every other day. Could it be that I need to eat more to lose the fat? I know that if the body does not consume enough calories it's metabolic rate slows. I've been doing this for about 3 months now. I will admit I do slip up on the 1300 calories sometimes but not by much and not too often. I plan on gaining muscle once I reach my goal of losing about 5 pounds. I don't think I'm fat, there are just some things I would like to fix such as a flatter stomach and firmer rear end and inner thighs. Effective ways to lose weight???? Okay i'm 5'4 and 206 pounds, i used to weight 173 pounds and waist size of 34 inches, then i got pregnant and went up to 234 pounds and my waist is now 39 inches. I lost the first 30 pounds within two weeks after giving birth, but now i am stuck. I really want my old body back, i am eating healthy, cut back on the calories, i started going back on my ellipitcal and i started using my husbands bowflex again. My doc gave me the okay to start working out a week ago, and i started right away. But i havent lost anything yet, and id like to know what else i can do to help lose the fat, plus it would make me feel better once i get down to my old weight again and to my overall goal of 130, and it would give me more energy. But im not sure what else i can do to help burn the fat.
