  1. To loose weight: eat a balanced diet, eat less, and exercise more. To keep the weight off, you should loose about 1 pound per week.
  2. The one way to loose that much weight is to either get bariatric surgery or get your stomach stapled. Otherwise, you've got to do the tried & true method of eating healthier, and at least 5-6 small meals a day while exercising.
  3. Drink tons of water and be sure to eat some fruit.
  4. I used Trim spa and it worked great.
  5. Burn more calories than you eat.
  6. well you exercise then eat less but when you do eat then eat littel portions 6 times a day. i lost 102pounds
  7. Drink a quart of water before every meal. Eat salad as a start with every meal except breakfast. Eat five times a day. Don't eat fast food. Park furthest from the entrance. Don't eat fast food. Stay away from prepackaged frozen food except ice cream. Make lots of love.
  8. I can't believe that guy wrote such a stupid comment to you, sorry, no offense to him.. but you know... losing TEN pounds, nevertheless 180 will be trying to you, your health, your mind, your emotions, and everyone in your life. I lost 60 pounds four years ago, and have manged to keep 50 of those pounds off, but it was HARD.. I have a few suggestions for you: 1) consult your doctor before you do ANYTHING 2) Find a good mental health professional who your health plan will slightly cover the fee of.. Trust me, I know it sounds silly now, but the emotions that come with weight loss are extremely hard to combat by yourself. 3) Find someone in your life to be your support "helper," this will be the person who TRULY understands how hard it has been for you to lose weight throughout your life, and who can help inspire you while loving you all the way through it. 4) Watch inspirational television, such as TLC and Oprah's Kirsty Alley Special, NOT, I repeat NOT, Extreme Makeover; Doctor 90210, etc.. trust me, not a good idea. 5) Stay away from over-the-counter drugs such as Trim Spa, Xenadrine, etc., the evidence shows more bad than good, and I lost a close friend of mine due to a heart attack after she was taking that for 6 days straight. Take my advice, stay away from any drugs unless you are under the care of a doctor who is prescribing them to you, and you are following her directions explicityly. 6) Drink plenty of water starting today. When I lost the weight, I was up to drinking 8 BOTTLES of water a day, and I was feeling great IMMEDIATELY. 7) Find a place where you feel comfortable swimming, and spend some time when you can in the pool, your muscles will thank you, and you will feel refreshed and wonderful. 8) Eventually joining a supportive diet group like Weight Watchers meetings is wonderful help and assistance throughout. 9) Set realistic short-term goals, and follow them through. Reward yourself with non-food related "prizes," that are acceptable to you.
  9. Try the low carb diet! Its easy and FAST! If you go to sugarfreesheila.com it has everything you need to know. Beleive me it's hard for the first couple days but after that the weight just melts off of you. You can mess up here and there but you have to be pretty faithful to the program for it to work. Heck, any diet that lets you eat cheeseburgers was cool with me!
  10. First I suggest you go and make sure you don't have any physical or medical problems. From there...if everything is okay...what you need to understand is that in order to lose or maintain weight...YOU MUST BURN OFF MORE CALORIES THAN YOU TAKE IN...or you are just going to get frustrated and possibly gain more weight. It is the easiest thing to do but you have to be honest and committed to the effort. You have to become very disciplined and hold to what you need to do. You have to adjust your eating habits so you start to take in more proteins and less carbs and your carbs need to be GOOD carbs...vegetables,fruits. Now..in addition to your eating you must now find some sort of exercise routine...working out at a gym, walking, swimming.....anything is good. YOu DON'T need to go to a gym, you just need to get your metabolism to become more active. When you start to exercise you will find you are more active because you have stimulated blood flow to your body and brain. You will sleep better. And you must get on a schedule. Once your body starts to make the adjustment, start to adjust your daily routines. Get up..and start your day...no laying around, no watching the boob tube. Get out there.... I am the same weight and wear the same size clothes I have since college and I am proud to say I am going to be 50 this year. I am athletic and feel great. Yes...my heritage dictates some of this but I have always eaten great...not junk food and I take care of myself and everyone can do the same but you can't complain and expect some pill or diet to fix what you yourself can do.
  11. I've lost 29 pounds so far by eating 1500 calories a day and exercising 6 days a week. I have a hard time staying on track with food on the weekends, so I added that 6th day of exercise to help me. You don't have go to a gym, either. You can walk, run, do exercise videos (the Biggest Loser is a great one), roller blade, swim, and bike. If you're going to count calories, make sure you pay attention to your portion sizes. People eat more then they think they do. You may want to consult your physician first, since you want to lose 180 pounds. A lot of people find that having support is better for them. I've heard great things from co-workers about Weight Watchers, they've both lost 30 pounds so far. Basically, it comes down to burning more calories than you take in. Most importantly, don't think of this as a diet. You have to change your lifestyle, or you will just gain the weight back. You don't want to restrict everything. I still go out to eat, but I'll only eat half of my meal if it's something I know is high in calories. When you're done eating, you just have to give yourself 15 minutes or so before your body realizes that it's actually full. Good luck!!
  12. OK I doubt your going to pay attention to this but it worked for me ! You are going to have to do this or you will never lose weight . First you have to stop snacking that's the biggest prob of all then your going to have to stop drinking diet cokes or any soft drink I want you to drink bottled water only not even tea! OK next your going to have to walk and I mean everywhere and if you do use your car park as far away as possible at mall or any other place you go . You don't have to run you will only hurt yourself You just have to walk a lot with a good pair of tennis shoes. You don't have to spend money for this plan OK . Eat your three meals a day but eat in moderation ! In morn cereal with skim milk and a kiwi every morn. eat a reg lunch anything you want but don't overdue it. Then dinner should be light and drink a lot of water with that . If you really want to lose weight this is the safe way. I think you will see it will work for you . If you decide to do so. Let me know how its going .
  13. My Dr. recommeneded to me this diet called Medifast. It is Soy Protein. It teaches you to eat 5-6 small meals a day every 2-3 hours to speed up your metabolism. You will lose weight quickly with very little exercise. I have lost 26 lbs. so far. If you want the number just e-mail me at lovejae247@yahoo.com
  14. This is a good way for anyone trying to get healthy. Look close at the food you eat, and I do not mean eating less. Read the ingredients on EVERYTHING you eat, and yes I do mean EVERYTHING. Avoid all hydrogenated oils, modified anything, fructose, high fructose corn syrup, and non-organic soy products; these things are all genetically altered and are seriously not healthy for you at all, even in moderation. Also, cut out pork, shellfish, any fish without fins and scales really, because those animals are not good for you at all. Try to eat along these guidelines. The more healthy foods may set you back a bit more than regular food in some areas (like organic stuff), but you can find healthy stuff in a ton of places, so just keep your eye out for it. And as far as exercise goes, try running, sit-ups, and push ups. The old fashioned way is the best way, trust me. I have lost 53 pounds in a year and a half following those food guidelines and exercise routine. (I lost 30 in the first three months) Hope this advice helps! Good luck!
