Ways to lose pounds fast

Any way to lose body fat - teenager?

Im a 13 year old boy, 5 ft 10 and 165-170 lbs, yes im big for my age, but i have lots of body fat on my stomach also and i was wondering how i could get rid of it. I bike to and from school (1 mile each way) and i don't really get much other exercise, any ways i could get more exercise and burn more carbs? I have a low metabolism so how can i get a higher metabolism, and is that a healthy weight i have? I still want to weigh less and have less body fat I also eat a lot when im bored, any ways to stop that impulse/boredom eating because that contributes to it also Ive heard about sparkteens.com the weight loss sight has anyone tried it and does it really help? I dont mean to ramble on but thanks for listening

  1. Cut out soda and sugar snacks (noo cookies lol)..and you'll have made an AMAZING impact on your weight and your health..
  2. youre not much overweight at all...all you need to do mainly is snack healthy...cut soda...and get yourself active somehow for 20 minutes a day.
  3. eat healthy...might take cuttin out all junk food and exercise will help boost your metabolism =]
  4. You have to do some resistance training like lifting weights and cardio. Also watch your diet.
  5. Make sure you use PORTION control when you're eating. You don't want to over eat anything bad for you. To get your metabolism up, you should to alot of cardio training (IE, running, jogging, biking); anything to get your heart moving faster. You may get tired after a while, but its all worth it in the longrun.
  6. bicycling doesn't do much for your stomach, it just helps develop leg muscles. For burning stomach fat, running, walking on an incline, and swimming are the best. To raise your metabolism, eat less amounts of food but more frequently... in other words, constantly be snacking... You want those snacks to be healthy though, of course.
  7. instead of eating when your bored, bike around the neighborhood or something. go out with friends. just avoid eating. or at least eat healthy snacks, vegetables are actually better than people think. other than biking to school, you could just start doing situps, lifting weights, stuff like that. at my school, we have a gym that allows us to work out in, if yours is like mine, trying going to the gym and working out. start off slow and build up. the best way to raise your metabilism is healthy eating and exercise. cut out sweets and soda. soda is a big thing. it causes you to get love handles and its actually pretty hard to get rid of them.
  8. ok listen. I'm going to tell you the truth. Staight up. So dont take any offense because I seriously have your best interest in mind. I'm 16, im very fit, and most importantly im healthy. If you want to loose weight especially for your age, then run away from that fat. By running away, I mean do cardio workouts. ALOT of it. You wont loose weight lifting weights you will loose it jogging., running, heck even walking. Do something that get your heart pumping. NExt time you want to play madden 08 on your xbox, DONT, go outside and play some real football, or soccer or whatever. Dont sit in your room and get fatter. To begin with, you need to stop blaiming genetics, or metabolism. Sure it plays a minor part, but you gain weight because you sit home and do nothing but eat, and you dont burn those calories that you consume. You dont gain weight cause "you were born with fat genes" so get over that shit first. And when you take up that responsibility you will learn to manage an healthy diet, keep a routine exercise, and loose all that fat. DO it now, once you are still young because when you get older, thats when your metabolism really slows down and you will be stuck a fat a.ss for the rest of your life. I wish you luck and you CAN loose that weight. just stay focused
  9. ecstasy.
  10. um ya sparkteens won't help you...they only let you lose 1 pound A WEEK!!! thts about how much to lose in 2 days-ish!!! workout a lot--run and do crunches, and ab stuff will help!!!! do exercises that target where you wanna loose weight--in this case thts ur stomch so do lots of ab work and swimming. if its ur legs than run, do yoga and cardio and stuff...dont eat out of boredom. if you get bored, find something to do like work out!! and make it fun because then you'll want to do it more. and get your friends to help you (especially with the working out part cuz they can do it with you). eating habits: the less sugar the better (no sugar at all is great!!) stick to whole grains (energy!) but w/o overeating, meats, veggies, fruits, and WATER!! but not to the point of bloating. throughout this school year, i've only drank water and eaten one entree (no snacks) at lunch and dropped 20 pounds instantly (pop is the worst--stick to water!) so just exercise and eat small portions of good food!! hope i helped...
  11. A way to increase your metabolism is to eat small meals or snacks every three hours. Especially, eat breakfast! These little meals should not consist of any junk food. NONE Also, keep portions small. I think it is great that you ride your bike to and from school. That's an excellent start! Perhaps, you can cut down on the amount of time that you watch TV ( everyone loves to eat and watch TV and it relieves the boredom from just sitting there) Try to participate in activities that get your heart rate going. Everyone has a different body type and there is not one that is better than the other. You are also still growing and your body is trying to accommodate for the rapid pace this is happening at. Boys during puberty always look a little awkward and eventually they grow into their bodies so, don't be too hard on yourself. You still have a lot of growing to do.
  12. according to BMI, your weight is still normal weight for your height. but if you still wanna reduce some fat, i suggest jogging for you or use treadmill.even 30mins-1 hour a day using treadmill, you'll surely have better body. avoid sodas, burgers, any oily or fatty foods and sweet foods like chocolate, ice cream or cake. you are still young so you'll surely reduce fast. if you wanna know or monitor your weight just visit this site like what i do http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ Good Luck~
  13. Stop it. Your weight is PERFECT. http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm PLEASE stop trying to lose weight when you don't need to. You sound like one of the hundreds of girls that are on here everyday desperate to lose weight when they don't need to. You are so young. You have barely started puberty and your body is going to change SO much so please leave it alone. Now, you CAN stop eating all junk and fast food. You can also stop drinking beverages that contain soda. If you want to snack, there are LOTS of things you can snack on that are good for you. Leave "sparkteens" for those who actually NEED it.....you don't.
  14. Have you hit puberty yet? Some guys lose quite a bit of weight when they hit puberty. How to lose weight: consume less calories than you burn, or burn more than you consume. That's the straightforward answer that most people will give you-- and it's true, that's exactly how you lose weight. What you need to do is exercise, because your goal is to reduce your body fat. You'll do that the best when you exercise. Find an exercise that works for you. Since you have been biking for a long time, that is no longer exercise for you. Your body is used to that kind of exertion. The best thing to do is to find a completely new exercise, feel around for one that fits you, and stick with it. When your body gets used to it, make your work-out longer and more intense. People always say that they "don't have time to exercise." Are you saying that you don't have time to take care of yourself, maximize your lifespan, and pick your direction in health for life? It's very hard to lose weight, but it's quite easy to maintain weight. It's ridiculously easy to gain weight. There are less important things than your health. You'll have to sacrifice for it, but it's worth it. Just make sure you're not cutting out the important stuff, and get your priorities straight. Once you start changing your lifestyle, you can't stop. You're just making it harder for yourself. It's a very important, life-changing decision and you need to realize that all the good you're doing now is going to last you for the rest of your life if you keep up with it. It's easier to lose weight when you're young, so it's a good thing you're starting early. Unfortunately, you're doing this doing the age of development. It is NOT a good idea for you to do a low-calorie diet. Instead, don't slash your food intake to measely levels. Eat a proper amount-- I think a boy your age and height should be taking in around 2400-2500 calories-- or a little less than what you need. Make sure you meet all of your nutritional needs or else you're jacking your development up. Be smart about what you eat, though. Sure, you can get your daily vegetable intake from Chunky's Beef Stew in a can, but you'll also be taking in a lot of sodium and fat. I gurantee that when you eat fresher, you'll feel fresher. It costs more to eat good, healthy, organic food-- but you're treating your body nicely, and you only have one body. Not to mention, it's better for you, overall. Yes, some organic food is crap that is no different from other store foods. Do your research, or at least eat normal food that is a bit on the higher end. Sleep the amount of sleep you need. I know how hard that is since I'm a teenager too-- our sleep cycles are seriously messed up during these years because our bodies hate us (really). But when you work-out, you'll sleep really good. Really, really deeply, too. If you sleep less than you or stay up, you'll gain weight. If you sleep right after you eat, you'll gain weight. If you sleep, get up, eat, and then sleep, you'll gain even more weight! Rest up, because your body needs that rest to build the muscle that you're creating everytime you work out. Tell your friends that you're dieting. They'll probably be asses and make fun of you first-- or they'll be too nice and tell you that you don't need to diet. Don't listen to them because you, yourself, feel that you need to lose weight. It's a personal decision. If they know that you're dieting, they will either make it hell ("I'm eating a cheeseburger! GEEE I WONDER HOW CAN ANYONE NOT WANT SUCH DELICIOUS, MEATY GOODNESS?") or help you. In fact, it's easier to diet when you're dieting with someone else because it'll become light competition, and you'll both support each other. By the by, if your friends give you hell-- let them know that you don't appreciate it, because later on when morale is low (such as when you hit your plateau and just can't lose any more weight) you don't want them waving fries at you or making fun of you. Read up on losing weight from exercise, diet smart, don't do stupid things like an extremely low calorie diet (about 300-500 calories a day) because it'll kill you or screw you up, and remember that what you're doing is amazing, admiral, and worth it. Never give up, never lose hope, and you'll do great. I won't lie to you-- it's hard. But you'll be so much happier in the end. Good luck, and cheers! Extra: Exercising is seriously all mental. Well, not all-- but nobody is BSing you when they tell you that it's all mental and that you just need to muscle through it. Here's one of my stories: the first time I did a mile run, I got twelve minutes because I gave up after one lap and dragged my feet for the rest of it because I was so tired. The second time, I had my ipod and made a note to stay behind my friend. I stupidly got distracted, but surprised myself by finishing in seven minutes and coming in at second place. That was before I started exercising, so there was no training at all. I just got distracted while I was fiddling around with my ipod and trying to find music I wanted to listen to. Extra 2: When you have muscle, you can eat more than you used to because your body will burn more calories. This is nice when you're done dieting and are starting life anew with your improved body, because you'll WANT to eat more to celebrate. Extra 3: You're not a girl, but if you partner with a girl to lose weight with... girls burn more calories when they're menstruating. Ahem. It's enough that they can have a cookie. A small cookie.

It's better if you do cardiovascular exercise, because this kind of exercise helps you burn fat... You should begin with a good eating plan, combining fats and sweets with fruits and vegetables. It will be better if you drink at least eight glasses of water daily to control your calories and your cholesterol. If you want you can use some pills to control your weight and to accelerate the process of burning fat. I know some pills which you can use to reduce your weight. Those pills are Xenical.
