- Wow, a 100 pounds won't be easy. I suggest you take it easy and slowly and give your body time to adjust to adequate changes. Watch your food portions and always opt for healthier substitutes like fruit or veggies. And keep an active lifestlye walking for 30 minutes or more usually is a good way to start and if your ready you can try jogging. Slow and easy.. thats it.
- Of course there are the usual: exercise, diet, yada-yada-yada, but I can't do that either. The walking you do is great, but not if it is just that. You need to push the envelope here. Your body is getting used to that routine. It has to increase and increase. Also, I would be a little careful about the weight training. Muscle weighs and you don't want to be a big, muscular overweight. I am 30 lbs overweight and have just ordered a product called lypozene. It is all natural and requires no change in your lifestyle or habit. What it does is add fiber and it makes you feel fuller. They said it's guaranteed or your money back. I will get mine in 2-5 weeks so I can't tell you of the success. If you want to try it, the # is 800-419-3372. They said it's for people that need to lose more than a little. Good Luck to you!
- There are a lot of things you can do, but you need to first be committed to a life time of changes. Walking is very good. Exercise is a key factor to burn off calaries and to stay healthy in general. Do not eat anything after 7 at night. That is the worse possible time for anyone to eat. When you snack, eat fruit and veggies as your snacks. As much as you like. Unbuttered popcorn is a good snack, if you must snack after 7. It is the hand and mouth thing that satisfys us. I have also found that sucking on pieces of sugar free, hard candy will help my food cravings.
- well my mom used to be 170 pounds ove weight and she bought an work out tape called turbo jam and now shes like 140. she looks good. it gives you an eating log to. it tells you what you should eat. but it takes time. you should try it.
- using weight machine u re not going to lose anything, u re going to gain muscles if u work hard enough, but there will be no weight loss. and walking isn't going to do anything for u if u want to lose 120 pounds. u need to do a lot of cardio exercises like aerobic. plus u should do swimming. plus weight training. so u should do stuff every day for 2 hours - aerobic, weight training, swimming. and not eating. losing weight is a lot of work
- I don't know if you are near an L.A. Weight loss clinic but I hear they are really good. You go to meetings and have a lot of support there. It helps when you have a goal and can achieve it with others who share your goal. I find it is always harder trying to go it alone, especially with something as hard as losing weight. My husband's aunt does that program and lost 45 lbs in 5 mths and she is almost 50 and has had a terrible time in the past trying to lose the weight due to a slow metabolism. She looks great now, and feels healthier than ever and has been able to go off a couple different medications she had to take when she was overweight. If you can do it you won't believe how much better you will feel. A friend of mine always says "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". Remember it will be worth the effort when you experience the end result. Good luck!
- You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.
- you have to do some sport everyday like you have to jog at least 45 minutes because as you know, it starts to work after 30 minutes... and you should eat white cheese, yoghurt, 1 porsion or 2 porsion fruit each day and in the lunch, you should eat something light like vegetable foods and yoghurt and salad, in the dinners, you should eat salad and yoghurt and grilled meat... if you actually do this, after 1 week you can easily give 2.5 or 3 kg's... and you can award yourself too.. you can eat a chocolate in sundays if you loose weight as much as you want..
- Hi scared....Boy do I know how you feel! I walked into the emergency room on June 23, 2003 holding my chest. My Cholesterol was >500, triglycerides >1200, and I weight 230 pounds....about 70 pounds over for me. For some reason I turned down an angiogram and anything invasive and started on a quest for health. I’ve been a Chef for years but the idea that food (and exercise) could so dramatically affect health escaped me somewhere....as it does just about all Americans. The fact is that we in America have created this nice little fantasy world that exists apart and separate from the environment that nourishes us; the earth. My journey has led me to a greater understanding of my own body and how it fits into the earth system. I took two drugs for a few days over 1 month, just until my Doctor indicated that the momentum had switched to blood lipid reduction and I through them away and realized way more than half of my blood lipid reduction through diet and exercise alone. In under 6 months I had bounced off of 150 ponds and settled about 160...my cholesterol was <150, triglycerides <100, I’d put on 10 ponds of muscle mass....I felt and looked GREAT...the best I’ve looked or felt in 45 years! I’m presently studying to become a Registered Dietician so that I can help plain folk like you and I help themselves faster and easier. Although I could....and WILL in the future....offer some very concrete advise, especially on how to get through this on a day to day basis, I’m going to defer to several well qualified sources below that will get you going...spend a few hours on the vegsource website....find a teacher-Doctor there that appeals to you....I’ve highlighted two below.....get their DVDs (as well as the vegsource lecture DVDs) and books......put what they teach into daily practice......turn off the TV and tune in to life......exercise DAILY and eat right....become apart of the earth environment! Good luck.....you can do this...I KNOW because I did it MYSELF.....I and others are with you!! - First I would clean out your fridge and pantry eliminating all the bad foods that contribute to weight gain, and look on line for some really healthy new recipes and foods you can put in your diet, lots of fish and lean protiens like chicken, get tons of fruits and vegis. Cook with olive oil or grapeseed oil, they have a good flavor and are so much better for you. Try to have your last meal before 6:30. And most importantly walk everyday and each week challenge yourself to walk a little farther and a little quicker. You will have a successful weightloss and look at it as a very important life style change so you and your husband can enjoy a healthy life together. Good luck. You can do it.
- if people would exercise more they would not have to worry so darn much about food...Are you really serious about doing this? We are talking about hard work. Putting down your little debbies, getting off your butt and not only going on a diet but EXERCISING!!! Even if you lose the weight it will come right back if you do not have the desire and motivation to not only look cute but to be healthy. it is going to take alot of inner strength I can assure you of that. 1.) eat 4-5 small meals a day 2.) drink lots of water 3.)exercise every day 4.) do not eat 4-6 hours before you sleep.
