Is it possible to lose weight by just cutting calories alone?

I am only eating 900 calories a day will i lose weight this way?

  2. Thats not good U know your body needs calories to function If the body doesn't have calories it feeds off your muscles and other body parts and so on
  3. It's the best way. Because you can eat healthier foods like salads and vegetables. Although 900 cals may be a little too low. 1200 is more reasonable.

Your body will go into starvation mode, your metabolism will slow down, and any food you do eat will be conserved to prevent starvation.   9. about 2 years ago, I ate 800 calories a day and lost good amounts of weight...but the doctor gave me a label instead of a pat on the back, EDNOS.... 900 is too little....try 1100-1200 and walk 20 minutes.
  10. You are actually losing muscle instead of fat. You are not taking in enough nutrients so your body begins breaking down muscle to continue to function. Consider this. Sometimes keeping a food diary can help. Sometimes we don't remember how much we have snacked on during the day. The food diary can help you see if you are snacking excessively or help you see a bad habit. If snacking is your problem you can look into a couple of options. You can cut down on your snacking or plan for healthier snacks. Don't drastically change your diet unless you know that you can stick with it. Otherwise you just gain all of the weight back because you go back to old habits. Just change a little at a time. Try having two "healthy meals" a week. Something as simple as having grilled food, instead of something fried. Also, to lose weight you really need to do some type of exercise. Find something that you enjoy doing. You will be more likely to stick with it. Maybe walking, swimming, yoga, dance, aerobics. Just whatever you find interesting. If you bore easily you may want to try doing more than one thing. For instance, walking with friends on Monday and Wednesday, yoga on Tuesday and Thursday. The next week try dance on Mon. and wed. and aerobics or Tues. and Thurs..
