How many calories is a woman suppose to eat when she is trying to lose weight?
I keep looking on the internet and I am getting all different numbers and diet plans. What is the intake of calories your suppose to take in while dieting. I am trying to lose like 50 pounds for my wedding. I am looking for a healthy way to lose weight.

- A healthy diet should consist of 2000 calories a day. if you wan to lose weight perhaps cut down to 1600 a day but i wouldnt go much lower that that or you would be crash dieting and the weight would not stay off for long.
- between 1100 and 1200
- It depends on your current weight. I weigh 145 and I am only supposed to consume 1200 calories per day! Get your bmi measured.
- I'm trying to lose weight also... The best amount of calories that I've heard to intake while dieting is 1200
- It depends on your weight right now and how many calories you are consuming. If you want a sure fire calorie count...I'd go with 1200 (which might be tough), but it should be enough calories to sustain you and you should still lose weight.
- It depends on how active you are. And you should choose to be more active--rather than limiting your calorie intake drastically. I hope your wedding is in the late spring or summer because losing 50 lbs. any faster will guarantee that you will put it right back on (and probably more) as soon as you stop the diet. You should lose 1-2 lbs. a week in order for it to stay off.
- 1200 no more or less, or you will either starve your body to a slow metabolism or you will not lose weight as fast
- Children that are like 12 are supposed to be based on a 5,000 calories a day diet. So, if that helped I don't know but i hope it did.
- do the horse jockey diet. a third of a peanut for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- 1200 a day, is what i go by.. ;)
- This isn't really answering your question...but I don't go by calories. I eat well balanced meals and light snacks. I usually go by what I can get on my plate. Mostly veggies, palm size protein, I don't overdo the carbs. Snacks are fruit (small amounts of cheese), veggies (celery w/ peanut butter), handful of almonds or walnuts, lots of water and consistant 30-60 minutes a day exercise by walking Tae-Bo then running and then adding weights. I lost 35 pounds doing this. I didn't count calories but did find I've been eating a lot less.
- About 1200 a day. Eating less can slow your metabolism down by as much as 30 percent. Eating more can cause weight gain. Also exercise 3 to 5 days a week, for at least 20 minutes. Keep your exercise routine fresh and try to do different things so you won’t get stuck in a rut. You could go swimming, running, jogging, pilates, yoga, or get exercise DVD’s. Good luck and I hope you have a great wedding.
