Do you lose calories this way?
Is it true that when it is really hot you lose calories, because your body is trying to stay cool. Is this true?

- idk but if you are sweating you wil burn calories cuz sweating is really good for you.
- yes...generally those that live in extremely hot or cold environments have slightly higher BMR's. the body has to work harder to either heat or cool itself which requires additional energy.
- Not true. The means by which your body attempts to stay cool, sweat and lethargy, don't use up calories. Weight loss, if any, is due to dehydration after sweating copiously. However, what your body does to stay warm does indeed burn calories, so hurray for winter!
- Your muscles work faster to retain a low temperature, and to release sweat - cooling you down. So yes, it is possible the a few calories could be shed, but not many. It could also be because of water loss.
