is riding an exercise bike for a good amout of time a legit way to burn calories/fat and lose weight?

- yes
- Its not the best... Running will burn many more calories, and riding those bikes builds really large muscles in places yo might not want them... Like your thighs. Try an elliptical trainer or swimming instead.
- Body fat is burned a bike very much bike to school, or work, grocerie store, save the world, no pollution, plus 30 minutes a day for 4 days a week you'll do good
- Riding an exercise bike is good cardiovascular exercise - that is, exercise that strengthens your heart and lungs and improves your circulation and the absorption of oxygen by the cells of your body. But focusing only on bike riding or other cardiovascular exercise can not only get boring, but you need at least strength and flexibility exercise too. A sound knowledge of nutrition (what nutrients your body actually needs to be healthy and that includes your weight) is vital for true, healthy weight loss. And while I'm at it ;) lack of sleep and stress are killer on weight! So yeah, the exercise bike IS good but it isn't the only factor involved in getting to a better weight. Here's a great article on the different types of exercise: http://www.improving-health-and-energy.com/types-of-exercise.html Cheers, BB
