What are some ways I can burn calories?
I want to burn about 700 calories everyday, this way I can probably lose 1-2 pounds a week. I usually walk for 20min twice a day which burns 200 calories, but I need to burn another 500, what do you suggest? and how many calories will it burn?

- Burning 700 calories more than your Basal Metabolic Count is sort of excess if. Keep in mind that your body burns calories all the time as fuel for your body to function. The amount of calories you burn naturally is about 12 times your bodyweight. 20-30 minutes of daily cardio exercise and a healthy diet will make you lose weight, don't go overboard and harm yourself.
- i dont know how many calories you would burn but i have been told that you could dance or have sex is suppose to burn a lot of calories for it takes a lot of energy to do both
- If you work in an office every hour get up and do chair squats about 10 - 15 take stairs whenever you can. Take an extra during lunch to walk it off. Always have snack (apple is good and water) This should show results in weeks and make you feel better.
- I am five foot two inches tall and four years ago weighed 167 lbs. I am down to 105 pounds and have kept it off for 3 and 1/2 yrs. I ran for one minute, walked one minute, then ran again, and walked again. For 45 minutes to one hour a day. I got up to 4 miles a day. I am not a maraton runner or competitive. Just trying to get healthy and loose weight. I fill my plate up with what I want to eat then cut the portions in half. Eat most of my calories in the morning, for energy and they burn off all day long. Less calories miday, and little as possible at night (dinner time) 'coz of less hours in the day to burn off calories. I have cheating saterday, I get to eat one "bad for me" meal. I still cut that in half of what I want to eat. And every sunday do an extra 15 - 30 minutes of exersize. I live near a state park so I use thier trails, I see deer, turkey, squirels... racoons... ect. They keep me entertained so to speak. I came up with 750-1000 calories a day burnt off in addition to house work, extra occasional walks with friends, walking to the post office, or anywhere close by I needed to go. If you cut your portions in half then your eating only half the calories your use to eating also. I never counted calories when I started this so this way I knew I was eating half of my normal meals. Only 3 meals a day, snacks in between are always apples, bannanas... fruit of some kind. I hate those diet meals, and just flat out love food. I am a good cook to so it complicates things. JO
- Go to http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/blcalcalc.htm and find out how many calories you need to eat per day to maintain your current wait. Start gradually having less calories per day until after a week you are eating 500 calories less than the amount of calories you need to maintain your weight. You can get the 500 calories less by exercising. Find a site that says how many calories you lose per exercise depending on your weight and height and the length of the exercise. Eat snacks but have apples or oranges or any type of fruit or vegtable. Eat something every 2 hours. Have a fruit or a vegtable or something only a few hundred calories. This will raise your metabolism. Take away most cheats in the house. Like take away those donuts and replace them with something healthier. You don’t have to cut off all the cheats just most of them but if you only have one every once in a while that’s fine. Good exercises are running or jogging or even walking if you have to. If you don't want muscle though try just eating less. I Make sure your encouraged. If you don't like the exercise or food you'll just slowly get back with the cheats and gain weight. If you get dizzy or pass out or have any symtoms consult your doctor immediatly. Have fun. If you have a friend who wants to lose weight with you, say whoever loses more weight wins $5 from the other person. Put a sign on your fridge so whenever you go near it you see "don't you want to lose weight?" or something like that it will really help you! Consult with your doctor before trying to lose tons of weight. Although if its only a few pounds to look good in that bathing suit its okay not to consult your doctor. Take your time. Don't go from 2000 calories a day to 1500 all at once slowly take fewer calories. This is much safer.
