Lose weight fast-good diets?

I recently have gained about 8 pounds from eating too many sweets & extra food. But now-I feel uncomfortable with my body! What are some quick ways to lose the weight? Please don't just say diet and exercise. I'm going to start exercising more-but what are some good diets?
