I am 155 lbs how many calories a day should I be consuming if I want to lose weight?

Before I had my baby I was 130 lbs now I am 155 and I am trying to lose weight. I am not sure how many calories I should be consuming a day because I am not used to dieting. I am working out 5 days a week one hour a day. I want to lose weight fast but in a healthy way so I can keep it off. How many calories a day is the lowest that I can go before going into the danger zone?

  1. Just be as low as you can. The secret to dieting is not to eat nothing or as little as possible. You just have to try to eat a few calories as possible (With, obviously, little-no fat) and burn off any calories you do take in. Something like a treadmill is good for this, as it tells you how many you have burned. (I've lost 15 pounds this way in a week ^^)
  2. 1200 calories combine with the exc. plan that you are doing is excellent, if you feel a little dizzy, then try 1500 calories... Good Luck!
  3. You didn't mention if you were breastfeeding or not? Because if you are, I wouldn't bother with dieting just yet. Simply cut all all saturated fats, sugary drinks and sweets and get that baby in rhe pram and start walking! If you have stopped feeding, I would cut out dairy food. It's just fat anyway and you can get calcium from other things such as soy or fish. When I cut out dairy, all my allergies went away, I lost my wobbly tum (that I had waaaay before I got pregnant) and ended up skinnier than what I was before we conceived. Good luck.
  4. 1000 is a good place to start. keep going lower if its not working.
  5. Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals. Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day. U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. This schedule will also be helpful in maintaining good healthy weight.
